The Archives of Michigan is pleased to host a Genealogy Lock-In, a free event to be held July 18, 2014 from 6p-10p.
Timed to coincide with the Abrams Foundation Family History Seminar, on Friday, July 18 – Saturday, July 19 and featuring Michael Leclerc, the Archives will be open to Lock-In registrants from 6p-10p. Pizza and refreshments will be available to registrants from 5p-6p. Please note that, although there is no additional fee, the Lock-In does require a separate registration from the Abrams Seminar. If you register for the Lock-In by itself, our system will take you to the checkout page. You do not have to enter your credit card information to register for this event. Just click “Finish Registration” and your spot(s) will be booked.
This event will highlight the Archives’ genealogy collections, including the Abrams Foundation Historical Collection and original Michigan source documents. Staff will be available to assist in the use of the collections and to offer guidance as needed.
The Archives’ computers will be available for free access to the subscription databases Ancestry, HeritageQuest, American Ancestors, as well as free sites like Seeking Michigan and FamilySearch. Laptops are permitted and access to the Archives’ wireless network will be available as well.
