Mitten: Roosevelt’s Tree Army
The Civilian Conservation Corps, part of the New Deal, helped restore land in Michigan from the damage done by extensive logging. The Corps was made up of young men who worked to prevent forest fires, plant seedlings, and improve river and streams for fishing. This edition discusses daily life in the CCC, as well as its impact in Michigan.
