Identification Requirements: Drivers License to obtain own birth record.

 

Certified Copy/Additional: $5.00/$2.00

 

Genealogy Record Copy: Only certified copies issued.

 

Other Copy Fees: $ .50 per page (other than county records)

 

Comments: Only certified copies of birth, death, and marriage records are issued. Reduced birth certificate fee of $2.00 for first copy/$ .50 for addition copies for persons over 60 years of age. Very limited space allows for one genealogist at one time. Recommended calling ahead. Children are allowed, however, libers must remain out of their reach. Libers may not leave the office. Documents are not on microfilm. We do not fax Birth, Death or Marriage records.

 

Births: 1867 to present. Birth records are available only to the individual named on the birth record (registrant), the parents of the registrant, a legal guardian of the registrant, a legal representative of the registrant or an heir of the registrant. An heir is defined as any relative of a deceased individual. Heirs must supply the date and place of death of the registrant when requesting a copy. This policy is in accordance with MCL 333.2882. Birth records are available after 110 years without ID.

 

Deaths: 1867 to present

 

Marriages: 1867 to present

 

Divorces: 1867 to present

 

Census: 1894. Only staff conducts search.

 

Naturalization: 1874 to 1928. Only staff conducts search.
